In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxTrondheim, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxTrondheim events, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. Next event: Back to Basics »
We’re working hard to plan our second annual main event, which will be a full day conference of extraordinary speakers and performers. More information will be released when we launch our new website. Coming soon!
If you have speaker suggestions that fit our theme of “Back to Basics”, please email us at speaker@tedxtrondheim.com
Be part of one of the major TED conferences of the year – TEDGlobal 2013: Think Again. We’ll be showing a live stream of Session 6: “World on Its Head”, free of charge.
We are in the midst of a global remix. Disciplines merge and cross-pollinate. Technology intrudes into biology and society. Power and authority are redistributed. Boundaries shift – or disappear. Hopes and anxieties collide. A new world is emerging at the intersection of once-separated realities, and everything we think we know might just be wrong. TEDGlobal 2013 will bring together those who challenge us to pause for an instant and Think Again.
This is a unique opportunity to be a part of this exclusive conference and enjoy some of the best TED talks before they are released online to the public. Find out more about the speaker lineup here: http://conferences.ted.com/TEDGlobal2013/program/guide.php

Love is in the air and everyone is catching spring fever. While the flowers and the bees are having a private moment, we might ask ourselves – what is the key to succeed in the game of love? In an evolving society, what determines rules of conduct when it comes to sexuality, mating or dating? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxTrondheim thinks it’s about time that we had “the talk”.
We’ve got some great speakers, videos, and fun activities in store for you! It’s free and open to everyone.

We all associate certain ideas when we hear the word “green”. For environmental issues, it’s a word that gets used so much that we’ve probably become numb to it. We’ve heard it all before, right?
Well for our next event, we want to inspire you to rethink what green means. We’ll explore unconventional ideas on how to tackle environmental challenges, and perhaps disrupt a few of our assumptions about what we consider to be green. We’ll hear from 3 live speakers and show a hand-picked selection of amazing TED videos.

What does it mean to be an outlier, to stand out, and to deviate from the norm? In many ways, Norway is an outlier relative to the rest of the world, so we’ll look at different aspects that make this country unique. In contrast, individuals within Norwegian society are generally not encouraged to stand out, so we’ll also look at how individuals can break the mold. We’ll hear ideas from a diverse array of speakers including an unconventional educator, polar explorer, cross-cultural expert, humourous farmer, childlike dreamer, arctic photographer and much more.
This is not your average conference. You’ll be exposed to many different ideas, stories, and perspectives that will expand your sense of curiousity.
