In 2001 Martin Hassel decided it would be a good idea to finally have TEDx in Trondheim. His enthusiasm was big: So he set up a website with (only) the TEDx logo. Not actively looking for any volunteers he figured anyone able to find the website and email him would be a good candidate. And sure enough, the first crazy person to send him an inquiry, Anna from Sweden, became a core member for several years.
TEDxTrondheim has hosted over 40 conferences and various smaller events. And it is one of the biggest English-speaking events in Trondheim.
TEDxTrondheim is a volunteer-run, non-profit organisation, which works as part of the global TED group to share ideas worth spreading. We aim to run at least two events per year: a livestream of the Global TED conference, and our own, locally curated conference, which works with Trondheim, for Trondheim. The number of and scale of events are in accordance with the annual budget.
